Birched Beauty slender and white rising high against fall's bluest sky birch beauty is splendor in motion commotion heaves among fall leaves and birch grows slowly naked, to await winter's gray and starker days to come forever reaching forward it's crown of stardust glory or to tickle with skeletal fingertip sun's chin, as an entreaty for yet a little more shine from which a new dress of spring sprung green shall bloom, all for the reclothing of the birch beauty in splendor ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 29 September, 2000 |

Birches are a personal fav of mine... here in St.Louis ... where elms, maples and evergreens are so common... the whitebark of the birches are a lovely treat... just like this poem As sure as God made wine you can't wrap your arms around a memory In the dark for me youre the candle flame that flickers to life ~Mission UK~ |
