In the moonlight, shadows dancing By the sea the night sings lovely Melodies that cast a knowing Warmly soothing that engulfs me Surely there could be no other Place on earth that’s near as charming As the sea That can cause my heart to flutter By the shore the night’s disarming As the moonbeams dance so brightly On the waves that roll and tumble Then surrender ever gently To the deep and I am humble By the sea In this place of rare discover I can refuge from all trouble For the shadows warmly cover Me and calm my heart of tremble Shadows you’ll be gone by daylight Moonlight dancing’s for romancing By the sea Shadows dancing in the moonlight In the moonlight, shadows dancing Dance with me 1/23/2000 |

Thanks Amy! So glad you could feel it! I think that's one of the best compliments a poet can receive! Thank you, Janet! You snuck in there on me! The sea does enchant me! I'm glad it shows! [This message has been edited by Denise (edited 02-17-2001).] |

Wow! Thanks, Sharon! Don't think I've ever been bookmarked before...and now twice in one night! I'm glad you enjoyed this! Yes, I think this challenge was by far the one with the most participants, if I remember correctly! |

Dear Denise; Oh to be on the beach in the moonlight, soooo romantic, You made it so real that i could smell the salty air! Love, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

No doubt about it, you can tell when a poem is penned with an understanding and yours shows through vividly in this piece. Superb write from you and I especially enjoyed the way the way this one sort of grabs you and holds onto you in such a tender way. |

What could be better than a pictoral of Cape May throughout all four seasons?! Thanks for your lovely comments! Poeminister - Thank you so much for reading and for your lovely reply!! Mark - Thanks so much!! I'm glad you liked the flow! I was trying to capture the essence of the feeling of the waves. Snowpants - Thanks so much!! I'm glad that you enjoyed it!! |

Denise~ Oh, my ! This is simply stunning ! I wanted to dance along the shore to the beat of the waves. So glad you added these lovely thoughts to the medley. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Denise this is beautiful...but I feel a little "stupid" I am seeing these poems titled and being posted everywhere as if a challenge yet I can't seem to find the challenge anywhere. Can you tell me if that is what it was...and where to locate it? ~Wynter/M "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II |

Wynter, this was a challenge from about a year ago, I believe. It was simply to use the phrase In the moonlight, shadows dancing in a poem. You can do one of your own to this challenge now, if you want to! Thanks for reading and enjoying my entry! |
