LOVE starts out strong, But ends in PAIN. Just like when u light a candle, The flame is high, But it onle takes a second, To blow it out. LOVE is the flame, And the smoke is the PAIN, So why light LOVE, When it will end in PAIN? Because what we strive, It is alive, Within u and me, A thing called lust, It's to bust, Bust out from within, Bust out from your heart. It only takes one look, Or the sound of one word, To think u fell in LOVE, After awhile the lust will grow, Maybe it will trick you, Or maybe it WILL glow. But eventually it will go, Whether it walks away, Or even by death, It won't stay, Because no matter what, LOVE always ends in PAIN. Rick Tell me what u think please... |

well as the old rock song says... "love hurts"... OUCH! yeah, it's painful all right... akin to insanity, i think (and i've said that before) but... and here's the BIG point i'm trying to make... the pain is accompanied by bliss and ecstasy... so.....what's the choice? if you say you don't want the pain and then you don't "participate" in the Love, what's left? no ecstasy, no bliss... no pain... numbness... days passing by.. one by one, whoops!!! gone... weeks, months years crossed off the calendar... yep!!! Love is Pain. and thank God for it..... because without the pain, we'd miss the Joy.... and i capitalized that word on purpose.... your write here was astute and real and i liked that you asked people's opinions.,.... thanks for sharing and now... get UP from that computer and go find some Love and Pain... or.... Stay on that computer and find it... it's all life.... real real real Life.... thanks for the read........ [This message has been edited by doreen peri (edited 02-17-2001).] |

I am not saying to forget Love just because of Pain, but to avoid the Lust that tricks you into thinking it is Love. A real Love's Pain won't hurt as much as one you thought was real. Because fake Love is a lie from the one it is from. |

AHA!!!! soo.... i missed the point... *blush*... i'm sowwy maybe if you said "FAKE Love is Pain" or "The Lie of Love is Pain", i would have understood better??? hmmmm..... who knows... sometimes i understand, sometimes i don't... BUT.. i liked your poem!! it was lovingly painful.... lies suck big time.... i don't accept them, myself, frankly.... once i started not accepting them, it's easier to distinguish between the fake and the real...... er? isn't it?? thanks for commenting back.... |

The end of love is painful...whether real or not. But I understand that an imagined love is somehow harder to lose...since you don't have to deal with just the end, but the realization that there really hadn't been a beginning. Very nice, I liked this alot. |

I enjoyed your thoughts here, love and pain are always close companions. "I've done all the dumb things"....Paul Kelly [This message has been edited by EagleOne (edited 02-18-2001).] |

Love_is_pain. Isn't this the truth you've written here, but isn't life also a mixtiure of pain and joy, seems you can't have one without the other and fake or real it needs to be. So we can learn and grow. write on Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

Reminds me of the old song..... "They asked me how I knew my true love was true. I of course replied something here inside cannot be denied." "they said someday you'll find all who love are blind but when your heart's on fire you must realize smoke gets in your eyes." Chourus: "So I chair them and I gaily laugh to think they could doubt my love. Yet today my love has flown away I am without my love." "Now laughing friends deride tears I cannot hide so I smile and say when a loving flame dies smoke gets in your eyes." Just a thought...I really enjoyed your poem's content....watch out for that lust it's a powerful tool....unfortunately for all of us it's a built in biological function...take care...ethome The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |
