Peach Soleil Promises he flung the paper to the ground looked 'round took her hand and with a brief command said "we'll marry," and tarried not they, a Justice found no bells to ring in their wedding day but she had foreseen wearing of green and of the war which might not have been but for a tyrant a fanatical wretch young men shipped to certain death one night, one night to last a lifetime through she was prepared to get him there then be left behind one of two he closed the door and suddenly the man became so shy, loosed her hand she stepped back then disappeared moments later she came near the blonde of her hair cascaded down o'er the shift of her peach soleil gown it glimmered in candle she was like a light the man was entranced as he felt for the bright her beauty, not rare but to him it compared to the stars in the skies O the light in her eyes and the shimmer of skin seen through the gown she was clad in simmered and glowed and became akin to a pale peach rose came the morn he kissed her goodbye she held back the sigh of her cry she waved him on but tarried there then in tissue packed with care the peach soleil gown that had seen his love the peach soleil gown that gave promise of a return to bliss his return to kiss the skin that had shimmered in the gown that had glimmered in the pale of light in that one night before his leaving for the war before her grieving forevermore decades passed the winds had shifted from translucent tissue the gown was lifted held aloft silken, soft peach soleil once saw a day of love, true love that had given promise of a once in a lifetime chance at a dream a peach soleil gown now tinged with a shade of dusty cream a moment revered of one love dear. |

Oh, my, oh, my...did she get to wear it again, if so when? I was almost expecting the end to have her wearing it in her coffin, but I'm hoping that it was not the next time for her to wear it. |

Thank you all for reading. Best we not tell one way or the other as to what actually happened, but leave it to your imagination. As Balladeer says, it leads to a song or a ballad, or perhaps, both. Thank you. |
