A Land AwayI wish to find a land where none can follow, undrawn on maps of brittle, broken lines. A continent upon a sea of hollow, grown ancient under web of ivy vines. A land away, where time and tears may linger, where sentiment spreads fertile as the fern. Away from guilt and pious pointing finger, and voices bathed in fraudulent concern. A habitat of heartful healing season where, naked, I may swim and sleep and play. Unburdened nights of rhyme and clearful reason, to wake, renewed, with lust for dawn and day. But wishes falter frail in drought of darkness unable to discern a trustful sound. Diffused to fog, inaudible and sparkless, unheard, they seep to graves below the ground. Now I divine to wander moor and mountain, through lands away from where I ache to be. A single stream where once there rose a fountain a trickleful is all remains of me. |

A beautiful wish I share. Wonderful writing.....carries the reader along easily with wonderful imagery. I caught myself joining right in that wish. To capture and live a moment is truly living |

Claire~ the imagery in this is purely exquisite... loved how you structured this together, as though it floats on air. your writing always is so lovely--and i know that whenever i read it, i'm in for a poetic treat...this surely was no exception. simply beautiful! take care amy "A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." |

This is beautifullyl put together..I love the whole theme and message! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Denise, thank you for reading and for finding this post for me! I looked and looked for it, but thought it was lost or deleted or invisible or something. At any rate, I now think I have my settings adjusted correctly here (thanks Walt!) and can find things more easily. Sincere thanks to EVERYONE who read this piece, for your gracious and receptive words of encouragement and welcome. You all are quite terrific, and you should congratulate yourselves for being a part of such a unique group.
