He offered it up to me ‘hardly driven’ so he claimed Shining there in the lot It beckoned me “sit here! Slide in!” So I took it out It purred a perfect Melody to my heart And because I needed it I couldn’t hear the ‘clink clink bang’ in the engine I took it home Loved it, used it Tended it like a jewel And listened to it’s Humming song And then one night I heard it The clink The clink and bang And wondered? What had I done? How was this noise Allowed to happen What had I done? Why had I not heard The change in the sound From the hum To the Clink And the mechanic said ‘it’s not your fault it was sold to you this way’ How could the salesman Do this this? With a straight face A lie? Outright? He used my naivete My tender heart My joy And sold me A lemon A lesson learned? Heartache earned? Listen with more Than your heart Listen with Your mind And never Trust A used car salesman |

Great piece, you've made lemonade from your lemon. btw, lemons come brand new, too! And it's often 'ordinary maintenance' until the warranty's up. ;o} |

I feel like Gilligan---what did i say? what did I say?...lol---- (little known fact-- it was never used but Gilligans first name would have been Willie had they chosen to use it)--just a little FYI..... I strongly agree with you on this. My wife had the same thing happen to her not to long ago. I`ve found that if your looking for a used car from a car lot your best bet is to go to a dealer that sales NEW CARS and look at the trade-ins they have. Most of the trade-ins have paper work from the last owner,so you can call them and ask about the car. Also NEVER BUY A USED CAR WITHOUT TAKING IT TO A SHOP FIRST. Sorry to ramble on. Your poem was well written and full of info. Very Nice. Mr.Magoo |

You can trust that they always seem to have a few lemons and they are looking for a trusting soul that will believe anything they say....James |

ROFLMAO... I love this, PDV!!! Picture me on the 2nd day of owning my car... pulled into a parking place, ran my lunchtime errands. Start to return to work... the thing won't go in reverse... Back into the nearest store to call my boss and explain that IF the person in front of me ever cleared a path, I was on my way to the dealership! By the time I got there, I couldn't decide whether to cry, scream, or curse... had to settle for doing all three simultaneously and loudly. *G* (And they didn't even have a computer for me to play on... the nerve! LOL) |
