I dont know if this what you had in mind for the challenge theme ... but I thank you, Doreen ... for the inspiration ~Moments In Time~ for Vante' Wise words were once spoken ... teachings of "timing is everything." A second glance taken in passing ... in a split second ... we witnessed what the future would bring. Perhaps a prophets vision ... the words now etched in the forever of ring true ... I don't need any explanations ... for time stood still ... when I first laid eyes on you. Light travels thru time and space ... and I saw Genesis reflected in your eyes. But time can slip too quickly away ... taking with it safe passage ... to where future's lie. Still I wouldn't trade one second ... wouldn't trade one single night sublime. For I lived and loved a lifetime in a moment of you ... now engraving your memory ... in my rhyme. I almost hesitated ... I nearly allowed precious time to slip thru my fingers. But fate was kind that day ... though time too soon took you away ... the love still sweetly lingers. Minutes taken by minutes ... night falls to light then gives way to day. It is in those seconds just before dawn ... where angels ... and innocence stay. For every thing there is a season ... a purpose ... a reason ... a plan. And there are no greater ties that bind ... than the promises made ... to a dying man. Sands of time ... winds of change ... tides measure time in calendar pages. Phasing moons and sundials ... marking time's passage ... down thru the ages. We are all here on borrowed time ... the clock begins chiming upon the moment of birth. It is the time we spend searching for love ... that allows us to know ... Heaven here on earth. *Moments between moments* ... *precious moments between moments in time.* You were my meant to be ... Be it by gift of fate ... or written in destiny's design. Janet Marie ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ "Time no longer waits for me This love now carved in stone Your breath the wind beneath my wings The light in your eyes will guide me home A flame will burn eternally A mystic wind blows by *A Moment between Moments* Is the all the time I need to fly." excerpt from *Moments Between Moments* written by DeVante' ****** Ecclesiastes 3.1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom, what God has done from beginning to end. Where the touch of the lover ends And the soul of the friend begins There's a need to be separate and a need to be one And a struggle neither wins [This message has been edited by Janet Marie (edited 02-12-2001).] |

Indeed, Janet, we are all here on borrowed time. I can relate only too well to the line about a promise made to the dying, also. I'm still one of those people who believes in Destiny, though. A great read this was. Michael |

Janet~ Such a lovely gifting. 'We are all here on borrowed time ... the clock begins chiming upon the moment of birth. And it is the time we spend searching for love ... that allows us to know ... Heaven here on earth.' What a beautiful piece of your heart is shared within this writing. *Hugs* dear lady. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

This is indeed a wonderful read... " I lived and loved a lifetime in a moment of you ... " There's a perfect line (among many), m'friend Waft every crest upon your destined sea. Embrace the Wave of Serendipity, Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy Refurl with sail for all eternity. |

Dear Janet, Vante had opened the portals of time to declare himself to you. And in the process begged a boon that it, time itself give part of his soul his most precious possession to be gifted to you through its passage. And I can see the gift shining through in your poetry. He managed to leave part of his soul. He loved you more then life itself I don't know how he did it but I read it in every word you write. May his butterfly ever perch on the edge of your heart. And may his words ever nest in eternities time. Love Sy |

I loved it! But 'I saw Genesis reflected in your eyes' is one of those lines I wish so badly I had written. Oh well, if it wasn't me...I'm glad it was you. Thanks for the beautiful words. |

"It's the time we spend searching for love that allows us to know heaven on earth." And it is the time we spend loving. These words come from the book "The Mystery of Marriage" written by Mike Mason. "Marriage rightly understood gives to the tender and the good a paradise below." and so does love....James |

southern ... thank you my faithful reader from back pages ... thanks for always finding my words ... and touching me with yours ... Im ever grateful when ya come "inhale" my work *wink* P-babes ... thanks sweets ..yes I know, and I always love sharing them with you .. and yes, it is a little haunting to see his words ... in a spritual sort of way ... but much of this poem was inspired by the "moments between moments" phrase... it was one of his favorite metaphors to define the time two spent becoming one ... he used that line in many of his poems...I thought sharing it would bring tie all the emotions of him together. Thank you P-man ME ... thank you for so much for this understanding sweet reply. thank you for telling me my words to move you. SBJ ... thank you for sharing that enlightening reading. Amazing how a fraction of time in our lives can leave us with an eternal flame of love that burns as bright in the birth of a new day as it did in the beginning. Very lovely write my friend and very beautiful in the showing of your heart in this celebration of life and love found in your angelic butterfly. Loved the 2/4 line rhyme usage in this piece as well and you know the line splits are a signature of yours that we couldn't live without. Very beautiful words from you in every sense tied off in a ribbon of inspiration from Ecclesiastes!!! Hugs to ya sweetness!! |

Oh my! I could cut and paste the entire thing here but you get the idea, OMG! This was exactly what I needed to read tonight. You know when you are fumbling about putting one foot in front of the other, and need something to ground you back to reality, and what is important? Well, your poems do that for me, and this was right out of the ball park. Like how good is this one line, it truly is an entire poem in itself, " I lived and loved a lifetime in a moment of you ... " Yes, that is pure poetry! |
