When The Meadows Melt

Today when the meadows melt beneath our feet
Pouring memories through this mindless retreat
Spilling sunflowers into a curtain of past times
Noon will sing of love behind a wall of chimes

The sea of promise shall rise in a surging swell
Capturing the wake of passion in a lover's tale
The tides of desire seeking this beach of caress
Through eyes beneath a breeze of love's finesse

With the timbers of history stretching in pause
Basking in the vigor of this dedication to cause
Gathering the winds of whispers from the night
Loneliness shall find refuge in softened delight

Swallows will dance and the monarch will sing
Peace shall be painted within a rainbow's wing
Love will be paved in aromas of a jasmine street
Today when the meadows melt beneath our feet

Mark Christopher

If you find yourself stranded in a storm
...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together

This is beautiful, Mark!  Imagery?  There's got to be a stronger word to describe it...
I love it...I can so imagine getting lost in a place like this.  Excellent work, my dear friend!  Definitely sparked my imagination with this one!

Mark my friend, this is truly lovely, a lilting song that caresses my heart. It really is an exquisite piece. So incredibly picturesque, really beautiful flow and an excellent piece of writing. I really love this, and shall add it to my collection.
Fabulous to see the colours of magic that flow from your pen

Yes...I agree with SP ... there has got to be a better bigger word for your poetry...
to describe the gift of imagery you have.
this is so very lovely in its unique images and romantic emotions ...
written with a soft spoken longing that comes from a whispered memory.
then kissed with your soft rhymes

"With the timbers of history stretching in pause"

very cool line and image there MC.
so is that curtain of sunflowers...
way cool...groovy too

where is my 10 card
loving this one toots

There's a need to be separate and a need to be one

Martie-Thank you my friend and for you to find it awesome pleases this cowboy to no end.

Sharon-To be in your library is a great honor.  Thank you much.

Charisma-Just as your wonderful replies melt into the soul of me.  Thank you my sweet friend for always sharing a smile.

Marge-You wouldn't believe where the inspiration from this one came from.......or maybe you would.  Thank you sweetie.

Sunny-Anytime I can send warmth your way with my words I am elated. Thank you my sis of poetry.

snowpants-There is a stronger word and it is spelled.......L O V E........glad it sparked your imagination....can't wait to see what comes of that from your pen.  Now don't get so lost that you can't find your way home....you know the curfew rules!!  Thanks my friend.

Marsha-Thank you much.  I am glad you found it exquisite.

JLR-For you to carry it with you please this old cowboy greatly.  Thank you and once again....welcome to Passions.

JM-I do believe that I could write of marshmellows and vinegar and you would find a way to make me smile with your words of praise.  My gift of imagery as you call it is probably just some left over traces of being tossed on my head one too many times. LOL  Glad you liked it sweetness.  Now if only it can do it's mojo and make it's way into writing time over again and shunning the age of innocense.  Thanks my friend and pal of the calling card.

Karilea-When mixed with the colors of spring in the haze of winter's departure ... that could be a sign of a road yet traveled. Thank you much.

No matter how hard I try, I can't pick a favorite line... as soon as I think I've chosen one that's most perfect, another whispers "but what about me?" And since that sounds an awful lot like the question of my life *G*... I'll just say this is perfect!

JM-Now I was going to give you that poem of marshmellows and vinegar but Luna was using the clouds to towel off with since she spent the night in a shower of stars and all so my marshmellows are a bit soggy now. Oh well, it is the thought that counts anyway isn't it?

Sunlit Soul-I am glad you enjoyed the imagery and the poem. Thank you for letting me know in such a kind way.

A Whisper's Caress-Really good works for me. Thank you much.

Coco-Thank you for reading and enjoying it my friend. I am always happy to hear from you as you always leave me with a smile.

Melody-Thank you for the re-visit. I appreciate the kind words.

Wilfred-Whether I agree with you or not I will hold to your words with much gratitude and thank you from the bottom of my heart kind sir. You really know how to make a poet feel proud.

Deb-YOU have a thing for FLOWERS??? I would have never guessed. Thank you so much my friend and I am glad you enjoyed the images in it.

suthern-Sometimes a whisper is heard louder than a scream for attention so don't give up just yet. Thank you for the perfect, but that word really belongs to describing the smiles you always bring to all those you reply to as you always share a sincere gratitude and appreciation and it is why you are so special to all of us here. Thanks again kind lady.

Holly-Thank you my sweet friend and I am glad you enjoyed the walk down memory lane with me in this piece and I too look back with much fondness and happiness to ALL of our walks together and also to the moments of quiet gazes found in the hearts of our eyes......."THROUGH YOUR EYES" my friend...."THROUGH YOUR EYES". Hugs and love to ya and a universe of thanks for being the butterfly that taught me how to keep my feet firmly on the ground while soaring in the heavens.
