(The first in the 4tete dialogue) Invitations and Beginnings Behind where I sit, winter begins, cold enough for shattered mirrors on the dog’s dish, warm enough to walk hatless through nude alders. Before me, a black box and white glow invites me ........dandelions blow ........across new mown lawns ........as robins listen ............to take a pilgrimage to where Ruth still gleans the chosen’s fields, maidens are disguised as troubadours, songs trill each hue in Renoir’s palette. Between nature’s hail and machine’s pull, I see ........a sudden gust, ........cherry blossoms fall - ........pink snowflakes. ........drift across the deck ........to lay by your feet .............myriad worlds unavailable in this village on the Western shore until powered by the web we weave. Cross the ancient bridge, wind scarred, moss laden, foundation undermined, home for abandoned nests - heavy with centuries ........of debris from those ........who came before; cross to the hovel on the edge of a barely flowing stream. Smell the odor of coffee .........(herbal tea), ink and rag paper .........(electric spark), cookies nearly ready to take from the oven .........(best when eaten warm); and pull up a chair, a box or barrel if you wish, whatever makes you comfortable as we mix words into new recipes and discover contentment in the old - ........I gave ........my love a rose ........she returned as too pale to suit her dress and dark to match her eyes. |

Gary...oh thank you...I cant wait til you post the rest so I can read them in their entirety...'course you could always just send them right to me(hint hint LOL)I tried to pick the one line that just made this come alive for me...and I couldnt...one line just flows into the next and to pick it apart would be doing it an injustice...cant wait for the rest |

I love this utterly wonderful, noooooo don't send it to Paula send it to me. (She won't mind really!) It's alright she's a friend of mine, she knows me, and she's given me permission, well she will do when I ask her. Utterly wonderul, this is great Isn't it a good job she knows me otherwise she'd be over here to give me a clump! Take care Mushy Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

That's a wonderful piece of work! Paula is such a great person with such a big heart. This is very kind and very well done! Reality seldom bears the possibilities of imagination! |

Thanks all, I can really only post mine, four with #5 due and not a clue what to do. I've probably had more fun with this set than anything else, but now all my work has whimsy creeping in. The idea of mixing poems and styles of poems is something I've been exploring for some time. It is great fun, please try it. Gary |

Thanks to the last two of you. All these kind voices, I could like this house. Sorry, I have not commented, but out of town and I surf a lot to find healthy boards. Gary |
