I'll not forget that day The sky was filled with northern lights Surreal in its beauty The woodland's trees reflecting sights Fungi, moss and rocks glowed in unreal colors Its pools began to bubble From the hillside's granite crags Even stones began to tumble Still warm from the sun's bright rays I felt no fear I just loved nature I rested on a pine bed To let the forest nurture Was the rest a dream Was I spelled by fungi's smell I believe I stayed awake As I laid in quiet dell Naiads played in pools Not frightened by the gnomes Sprites and trolls abounded Then ran off to their homes And then the most real part An Elf came right up to me I'd thought they all were males But 'twas you, and filled with glee In buckskin quite revealing Peaked cap with feather Pheasant Slippers with curled toes My outlook was quite pleasant Without a word you kissed me Yes an elf kissed me it's true And I kissed back sincere No doubt 'cause it was you Love bloomed and spread its petals In those woods we made a glow Our love flared then and flowered From each caress endearment flowed Hours flew and then you slept Nestled closely in my arms When my eyes closed I dreamt you stayed Where I kept you safe from alarms But when I awoke the woods were bare Sunlight dappled the ferns The birds chirped their songs Yet for you my heart still burns Was it a dream or figment thereof This love from a fantasy rare Or was it real, a true sublime deal Could I marry an Elf so fair I return to the trees Back to our soft pine bed Praying that you will return Praying that we will be wed All I have is a memory And a soft pheasant feather Memories of sweet elfin love Will remain in all weather Great souls have wills; feeble ones have only wishes. ~ Chinese Proverb ~ [This message has been edited by Wilfred Yeats (edited 02-08-2001).] |

Perhaps our most profound moments can be found in areas where dreams and corporeal reality melt and merge-the meeting places. I hope you find your elf-magic being love. [This message has been edited by ATelamon (edited 02-07-2001).] |
