The hem had begun falling out of your favorite red twirly-skirt when the end of my world came and you were gone. I never sewed it up. The skirt lies across my lap, caressed by my fingers, faintly fragrant and dainty, as your memory lingers on. It looks impossibly small now, for the way you suffused my soul, my days, so full and complete. I can feel now why you wanted to wear it every day. You were enchanted in graceful motion. I can still see you dear and sweet, in the mirror of my mind, before life held me behind; my lovely daughter Sheena Rose, six years old, spinning in circles, nearly breathless, making it wave in scarlet spirals; with your long hair flying, blue eyes shining, and your beautiful flushed, eager little face laughing . The spiritual wind that holds survivors aloft, plants the seeds from which bloom new hope ... R.J.G. [This message has been edited by Rosemary J. Gwaltney (edited 02-06-2001).] |

This brought tears - so terribly, sadly, beautiful....I don't know the background, but my heart aches, and my mind does not want it to be true. Lary |

Thank you so much - I write through tears of gratefulness for your kindness. I just went to see your site, and after reading Alberta Chill, I had to come back before finishing, to tell you how beautifully meticulously you describe the winters I love so well! What magical imagery! Thanks again! P.S. And yes, mine is a true story. Oh, my dear friend, I just went back and read your Journey of Grief - and MY mind didn't want to believe that IT was true! No wonder your heart is so tender! I'm so terribly sorry for your loss! [This message has been edited by Rosemary J. Gwaltney (edited 02-06-2001).] |

Rosemary, my friend~ You are so gifted with heart ... so loving, so giving, so enormous. This seems like a photo that comes to life with your sweet memories of Sheena Rose. I can just picture that little twirly-skirted princess. Hugs, sweet lady ... such hugs I send to you. I Love you~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I was wondering why we been carrying that thing around all these years. I suppose the same goes for that 'lil rocking chair. Your such a sentimentalist. How are we ever going to move all these memories. Mush love, your husband dale |
