This is not a plea for sympathy, truly. It's just that I'm reading a delightful book filled with delightful love, and I miss my own experience. But at least I had it. Broken Valentine Virginia Salter I’m reading of love that’s deep enhanced with spoon-fashioned sleep as into night hearts do creep and all I do is weep for my days of having done have evolved to no more than none. It would not be such pain for me had I not had such ecstasy, yet, now I’ve fully been set free from the bonds that bring one glee even though I’d not want to be cast into this rolling sea. But I truly must confess I would take those hours of bless when to my love I wholly pressed and to which cannot regress for the time is closed to me as I live this melancholy plea. © February 6, 2001 |

Virginia, this is sweet and heartfelt. We all deserve to have ongoing love. I wonder why it is so hard to have? This holiday can be a sad one when love is not with you. Nice work, expressing it for all of us lonely ones. Sandra |

Beautifully written, Virginia. I'm glad you posted it. A reflection of thoughts. Great to see you again! To capture and live a moment is truly living |

I apologize VAS. . . I had read this but not replied. . . but I will now send it back so that everyone can compare it with Silly Valentine. . . this is equally as wonderful!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. So happy you liked this piece. I do have to admit, each time I read it, I am more convinced that I totally left out a line that I had thought when composing, but apparently didn't type. I can't put a finger on what's missing, but it feels like something is. It's like there's a line needed to explain something, not full out, but just enough to help the reader know what I really mean. going to have to ponder it. Yet, maybe it's just me. |
