Would suit me so fine While in your loving I drown The roses are paper No wine for this caper And I wear the tears of a clown Guilty were we Of love's first degree Your kiss drove away any frown So now we've been burned While the little we've learned Leaves me with the tears of a clown Moonlight serenade While we promenade Our loving all over town But we never talked And we seldom walked So, I wear the tears of a clown The poetry sent With love's lament Mastered my fears, kept them down But now all is ash The 'what if' re-hash Shows me with the tears of a clown Let's call it quits And simply admit Our love was all blue or all brown Please walk away And call it a day Leave me, I've the tears of a clown Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Charisma, well you write too. I'm sure it will be wonderful. and probably different from mine as mine is different from Janet Marie's. Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

Guilty were we Of love's first degree Your kiss drove away any frown So now we've been burned While the little we've learned Leaves me with the tears of a clown ================== very cool spin you put in this old phrase Keth ... and Im digging your rhyme flow ... I had a feeling you'd try this one ... well done poetess jester Tomorrow holds only mystery And who's to say what might be But in you I've found a love so strong The sun and the moon look on in jealousy ~VH~ |

Great response to the challenge. The cadence was wonderful and the whole piece sort of makes you want to hum along with it. Wonderful write. If you find yourself stranded in a storm ...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together |
