Dos and Don’ts By Richard Maxfield 2-5-2001 Do the dos Don’t do the don’ts Be a I will Not an I wont Run with the runners Don’t set with the sitters Become a finisher Not a quitter Do it now Never wait Be a I can Not an I can’t Say the good Never the bad Soar with the happy Don’t grovel in sad Be a thinker Look before you leap Life is short Never cheap Arrive early Not to late Learn to love Not to hate |

Excellent advice here. Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
