A vivacious daydreamer, Eyes effulgent with life And a savage, tumultuous fire... Born from summer’s verdant arms, Lifted from twilight’s fervor, And transcending all barriers, A woman’s quiet form Emerges to harness the sky. Hands tattered by the marks of time Are thrown up to the clouds, Capturing each twinkle of power Fluttering upward From the breathing earth. Sepulchral vocals throb incantations, The words spinning in the air As energy weaves through her fingers, Only smashing to the ground When her confident command bids it. Her prayer of peace is delicately whispered In fluid, ancient tongue As she pitches her magic forward And watches it softly disperse Within the electrically charged air... And then she walks away, Knowing now that the power for change Rests in the tender hands Of we who believe it can happen. *Inspired by recent headlines, some of my own daydreams, and the knowledge that has always been in my heart- we have the power to change our world, to make the bad things good, to care for each other, encourage one another, and to, above all else, love with every fiber of our beings* *Krista Knutson* I'm a slow dying flower In a frost-killing hour The sweet turning sour and untouchable... -Natalie Merchant [This message has been edited by Alwye (edited 02-03-2001).] |

wonderful poetry here Krista I haven't really read a lot of your pieces but I'll tell you right now that I'm in awe you have written down such beautiful words "Knowing now that the power for change Rests in the tender hands Of we who believe it can happen." very true, very true I see no changes, wake up in the morning I ask myself, "Is life worth living or should I blast myself" TUPAC SHAKUR |

If everyone used their energy for doing good instead of either just existing or trying to tear things down, the world would be a better place for sure. And our world HERE is better because YOU post your lovely poetry here. |

Her prayer of peace is delicately whispered In fluid, ancient tongue As she pitches her magic forward And watches it softly disperse Within the electrically charged air... And then she walks away, Knowing now that the power for change Rests in the tender hands Of we who believe it can happen. ====================== K, (first of all) how wonderful to see your name here and your amazing poetry ... also I dont know what is more awe inspiring .. this poem of brillance or the footnote that accompanies it ... both showcase your grace and beauty ... both relect your light ...and you shine in every word. Hold on to that energy and that innocence .. let it be your guiding force ...grow in your own light. You and your gifts are a beautiful thing to witness. Trying To Find Purpose Vertical Horizon Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind Chorus: And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind The wind and your love to carry me Well tomorrow holds only mystery And who's to say what might be But I know in you I've found a love so strong The sun and the moon look on in jealousy In jealousy Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind To carry me Please carry me If my slight Muse do please these curious days ... The pain be mine ... but thine shall be the praise. ~Shakespeare~ [This message has been edited by Janet Marie (edited 02-03-2001).] |
