are you finally just going to disappear?
I can't seem to stop your memory
from softly sifting through the cracks.
Though I believe an ill wind must keep you
from ever hitting the ground,
'cause I look and I can't find you anywhere
you are just gone.

Help me please
find the friend I thought I
would always have.
Help me find the traces
of the smiles we shared,
of the teasing heat we
had so much fun creating,
the traces of deep hurts that together
we cleansed
or tried to at least.

Tell me please how could I
have been just a passing hello
that you no longer
have need to say?
I don't understand how you manage to linger
and I don't.
Before your sifting ceases,
can't you tell me, please?

This is such a gentle hurting plea...and I love the way you've woven the trail...from

What a poignant plea... I think I wail the same words at the wall... but you give it a softness and gentleness that makes it all the more painful. Wonderful poem!
