Long Live Poetry. < !signature-->I have been writing for a while Making people love, live, and smile Finding alternatives for happiness Tracing, and erasing moments of harshness So long ago dressed in fur Sitting by the light of new fire Wild, beastly, but human at repose Free, I begun to speak in prose Inscribing on rocks, plates, and caves The mementos of my life's struggles Onto the plains and near the rivers I settled My will and anxiety for words Came amidst the long enduring hours in fields My lifestyle changing from hunter To agriculture, farming and horticulture I began to write magnificent fables and tales Having found a language consisting of letters Faced with a print revolution I put away my chalk and paint For new found invention Of ink at ballpoint I became urbanised Revolutionised, and industrialised Refined, refining words of languages encultured Wars ravaged, homes, lives destroyed Challenges to moral codes and thoughts Became the norm of social scientists Confused, I was, became, of my beliefs Tested, and manipulated I Began to write of feelings, and injustice Of my passion for love in words never spoken Valiantly giving my innerself To the beauty of rhyming words I reached the papers, journals, and novels Spoke in prose to lords and ministers And to the common people as well Establishing the importance of verses In the fields of literature To be stored away in the labyrinths of libraries To be used by scholars for further studies Now I come to reach out to millions Through the WWW revolution Entering the screens, of friends and foes Pleasing, cheering, delighting with lines Colours of rainbows, voices of angels I bring tears, laughter, and sounds of bells I am still as poetic as I was since the beginning And I remain true to the feelings I bring To enlighten your life my poet friend Because I want you to be happy to the end. And isn't it JUST that way with words that lead to string of thought that carry on to stories that weave into books of hope... and indeed Sir...you passed on your smiles! Happy 1000th Post!
