Wailing Of The Warrior ~*Marge Tindal*~ Once upon a midnight, in the land of long ago. The Warrior took a Maiden, to be his...and so. The telling of their story, casts a spell upon the listeners yet. A story of love found - love lost, and a love you will not forget. They met in the glen, where the animals roamed free. They fell in love and pledged to always protect each other's needs. There came one chilling November, when he laid her body in the cold, cold ground. The Trail Of Tears they were forced to walk left sorrow's spirit all around. The Warrior tried to make it alone, the tears frozen upon his cheek. His Maiden was no longer by his side, for her he did so openly weep. He thought of going onward, but could not leave his heart. A man of honor, he returned and now they will never part. He returned to the spot he had placed her. And there he laid his body down. His spirit restless is still heard today, those who listen can hear the wailing sound. His heart crying out, "Maiden, I failed the test. I could not protect you, though I loved you best." Out upon the plains at night, you can still hear the Warrior wail. Joined now with his Maiden love, buried along The Trail. ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Serenity~ This beautiful graphic is from a painting, entitled 'The Shaman's Tears', done by artist, Mark Wagner. It is a gripping visual for the poem ... and I thank you for letting me know you like both. Love n' hugs~ Night ... ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

"...out on the plains at night you can still hear the Warrior wail..." yes, Marge, one can... but only if one knows the loss of love... trust me....not all can hear... wonderful, and Mark Wagner's work is always well done... |

and when the wind blows from the south across the red soil of the reservations, you can still hear the wail of the Cherokee Warrior in the land of the Kansa. Well written my poetic friend. May the spirits of your ancestors continue to speak so eloquently through you. |

Lady Marge As I walk through the forested Glen nearest my own heart, I hear the weeping as the river flows, and as I reach to touch, I bring to these lips a taste of tears... beautiful words this morn, Lady Ollyne "O, learn to read what silent love hath writ: To hear with eyes belongs to love's fine wit"...Shakespeare |

Now this is the muse I have been looking for.....care to do a loan so that I may try to come close to your depth in their honor? I am forever grateful for your vision and your understanding in these and you know that........now if only I could get close to that plateau I could spill out what is trying so hard to get out of me. Beautiful write my friend.....now don't forget those nights under the stars and of course the extra room. If you find yourself stranded in a storm ...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together |

Sven~ Thank you for your thoughts. MarkB~ Ah, my friend. I do not lend a spirit such as this. But, I do send you the power to quest. Let your heart be still and summon ... the spirits will find you and enter. Be still and listen. They will come. Thank you for the 'stars', sweet one. Love you~ ~*White Feather*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
