A corner café, Wednesday, another day of the week, sitting and sipping, day dreaming, head singing, not thinking, finger tapping music on the side of my cup, languishing in bluesie bliss, oblivious until you pulled out a chair. Invaded my space, turned bluesie to blue, started my heart, opened my drunk sleeping eyes. Paste my face on a carton of milk, label me lost, whereabouts unknown, last seen with a woman, she looked like you; give me a pill to wipe away my tears, help me to sleep, deeper than deep, play me the blues, croon me a song lower than low… ah but I see it was all a mistake, that's really not you and this isn't me, it's just a case of mistaken identity. w. james beard, jr. © January 2001 [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 01-28-2001).] |

j, Like the way this works, builds nicely then cracks open. And well painted scenes, too. |
