Some times I feel as old as a mountain.
Yet other times as young as a new hatched dove.
I have seen as much as a roman fountain.
But I long to feel the excitement of new love.

The days of my life show me new wonders.
And all the nights are filled with new dreams.
Memories rattle me like loud thunder.
Living tomorrow will be fresher so it seems.

I look out of aging eyes so settled and sane.
That it worries those that look deeply inside.
They see not the anguish the fear or the pain.
I show only my love, my anger, and my pride.

Look not at my body, my eyes, or my face.
They can't show you all thats hidden within.
My heart is an old, silent, and closed space.
Until another opens it with a glowing pen.
