I feel their presence Moving slowly inward I turn to look but see nothing Now approaching from all sides The movement of invisible walls Squeezing sensations intensify As I feel the approach.. The immense pressure applied Upon mind, body, and spirit. I brace against the impact Of the meeting of the walls The squeezing is unbearable Will it ever cease Beacon of Hope! I like the way you conveyed the feeling of pressure in this one...could feel the stifling atmosphere as I read. Nice work. |

startin_fresh, Ah yes, I have been there too. Tough place to be. If you can endure, you will energe a stronger and better person for it my friend. Powerful words. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

It's interesting that this poem came about from my talk with a friend. She expressed the feeling of the "walls closing in" upon her. She asked I understood the feeling. The poem is my reply.
