I’m lonely tonight, darling-- Won’t you come and take me away? This heart sits in silence-- Won’t you sing me That beautiful melody of yours? There really aren’t many words That can reach me tonight, Except for those select few You whispered into my ear That night. There’s no flow Without you here; Nothing can pass the time When you’re gone. Won’t see a smile; Won’t feel any joy Until you show me the stars once again. I guess there’s only one solution-- One answer to this tragic longing-- Your arms around me; Your heart beating Here next to me. 'cause I am hanging on every word you say, and, even if you don't want to speak tonight, that's alright, alright with me... |

SnowPants~ Such lovingly longing thoughts - 'I guess there’s only one solution-- One answer to this tragic longing-- Your arms around me; Your heart beating Here next to me.' I was reminded of that lovely classic by Karen Carpenter 'Close To You'. Enjoyed this render. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

sp, Very well written here. The pain and longing reach right out and pull you in. Hang in there. Happiness will find you my friend. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Sounds like the perfect solution to me my friend. Your writing is growing with each and every post and you came in a shining star so you now know of the level you are at. Superbly written and one for my library for sure. Loved it. (Can't wait for the season to start again so that I can finally get the poem for me "CARDINALS" written by you. ) A life with love will have some thorns, but a life without love will have no roses. author unknown |

Yes, my friend, that seems to be the only one I could come up with. Thank you for your kind words. I am honored to be praised by a fine poet such as yourself. And, about that Cardinals poem, don't hold your breath... sp 'cause I am hanging on every word you say, and, even if you don't want to speak tonight, that's alright, alright with me... |
