THE VOICE OF REASON “Stand down,” the voice of Reason rides, And all but Agony resides Upon the gray and grim refute Of one sequestered. The lute Of silence forespent in prayer, Gather my eyes, I’ll meet you there. Where palisades of Darkness dance Away the night. No second chance… For resurrection found amid The sole insurrectionist bid, I wander in the visions lost, And suffer none to know the cost. But stand full well to hone the dream – To bring to life her self-esteem, Where by her light all love presides. “Stand down,” the voice of Reason rides. “Heed not the dream, nor dwell this night In visions sprung from hopes within, For all may seem of sheer delight Where sorrows wrung have never been.” The taste still fresh upon my lips, I’ll never hold her tribute bare. For who should mesh within their grips A tongue so bold with poisons there? Forever stood to pits of shame, Whereby no good erases blame. Life’s blood, the fever quenched but I Could not leave her, and so must die. Michael Anderson But dreams of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned and die. EAP |

I'm so glad to see you back, but sometimes I just do not know how to respond to your work... it is always most intense... hugs, Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

I agree with spitfire...this is a performance piece...I had to whisper it for now...but later? ha! The seeming ease that you write complexities is ever astounding...much admiration, here. |

"I wander in the visions lost, And suffer none to know the cost. Spitfire, well, as long as I don't have to do the reading I guess - I'd be sure to butcher it if I did, I'm sure. Sunshine, Don't feel bad, I don't know how to respond to much of what I write at time...LOL Glad that you did, though. ![]() Sy, actually my love life is on a high note it's never reached before... Although I can see where the wording to this poem may have cause a misinterpretation. The usage of the word "her" in this poem is not in referance to any real person in my life but actually referring to the personification of "Reason". Glad you enjoyed the piece, though. ![]() Kit, standing even taller with the support of all my friends. Thank you so much. PdV, your words hold magic of their own accord. Thank you. serenity, LOL - for some reason I can see you dancing in the dim light in your night gown reading this out loud... :0 Janet, well, I was experimenting with the "cadence" here a little.Glad you found it to your liking. I honest didn't know if it would throw people off or not. Thank you all for the kind replies... Michael |

I for one, enjoyed the cadence, and Michael, it's great to see you back more often! What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life. Walt Whitman |
