The Wizard In My Garden

I have looked beneath wisteria vines,
Laden heavy with tendrils of white.
Lifted their flowers,
To uncover stark branches,
That could hide him from my sight.

I have lay in the grass still as a stone,
Hoping a shadow I would see,
Cast long on my face,
Of him in his grace,
Come to spend time with me.

I have stood in awe among roses red,
Soft petals that waft to the ground,
And heard not a word,
But knew in my heart,
The next corner,
He was around.

And how I ache to touch his hand,
Lay my fingers aside his strong face,
To lay with him
Amid daisy’s and lilacs,
To melt in his tender embrace.

But I know that is not possible,
Not at this time, or this place.
I must be content
With the knowing intent
Of longing, that fills this space.

I won’t give in to thoughts of never,
My heart, it will not harden.
I will wait in quiet anticipation,
For the wizard
That lives in my garden.

Seraphin~
This is quite a lovely piece of writing.
Interestingly different rhyme scheme noted.
Enjoyed the imagery.
A most pleasing read.
I'm so glad you shared it.
