"Close your eyes" I whisper "so you cannot see the night" Darkness bleeding in threatens the single softest light The quiet seems to mock me My thoughts beg to be heard The battle slowly lost as I listen to each word All the unanswered questions I brush back falling tears I wish my children had a mother with not so many fears It's hardest to be strong in the honesty of night When I have to see the shadows that surround my fragile light To capture and live a moment is truly living |
