A Knights Tale This is the story of a knight called Sir Unger Who for adventures dashing and daring did hunger If you're expecting a knight both bold and true Then I'm afraid Sir Unger is not the knight for you I've been told he spent a lot of time with Dick's cat And adventures you know don't fall to you like that But this day he was lucky a fairy came zooming by And she heard his lackluster and rather sad sigh What's the matter with you then, quoted she He replied, on an adventure is where I long to be That's no strife she said and flapped her hands a bit Come on move, you wanted an adventure, well, this is it What will I have to do, Sir Unger said a little wary? I'm not being ungrateful but I don't know you Fairy The fariy, having met knights like Sir Unger before Said it won't be an adventure if I tell you anymore But believe me there's a princess by the name of True And she needs to be rescued and I've chosen you Oh! Said Sir Unger, will I need my armour suit on And you promise this is an adventure it's not a con Yes, replied Fairy, protect yourself with all you can There's a dragon there and of knights he's not a fan He does tend to flame when he espies one coming And his fiery breath isn't nice and I'm not funning Right said Fairy when Sir Unger had donned the suit Come along then love, hurry up, this'll be a hoot So Fairy and Sir Unger made their way to the place Where Dragon was waiting to start this rescue race Princess True was placed in an inaccessible little spot And Dragon was cooking something strange n a pot What are you doing here? Said Dragon in a gruff tone Sir Unger said I'm sorry can we borrow your phone Dragon said, you're not fooling me with that old tale I know all about Fairy I read it in the Faries Mail She's organised a rescue mission I know her of old No, that's not true, that's just a tale you've been told We've lost our way, we need some help getting home Have you a spare horse or a carriage you could loan Dragon not convinced that Fairy was telling the truth Replied okay Fairy you and knight give me some proof Tell me honestly that you are not here to rescue True Because quite truthfully I don't believe either of you Don't be like that, Fairy said trying to play her part Sir Unger nervous his pulse racing along with his heart Eased his way across to Princess Trues standing spot For those of you who can guess the rest of this plot Go away and have yourself a glass of nice cold beer Don't spoil the story for the rest of us gathered here Sir Unger stood below the princess known as True She held out her arms and said knight I'll come to you She leapt off the inaccessible balcony into the air And the dragon could do nothing but stand and stare Fairy waves her wand and True love will be set free Unger standing True love is the answer to the mystery I hope this tale hasn't been too long and dull for you But I wanted a smile and I found it in my tale of True I'm sure you all saw the punch line coming from afar And you all know that with my friends I like to spar I'm sorry I couldn't resist this rather feeble jest But today I need a giggle and this was my Sunday best Marsha  Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning [This message has been edited by Marsha (edited 11-27-2000).] |

Startime, I'm pleased you like it, Paula does the romantic knights, and mine just aren't. I don't know why that is, I start off with good intentions but my knights seem to have penchant for the comic.   Kari, she asked me to try if a dragon would stir my knight to action, and I would suppose that it didn't. Glad you liked it, I'm pleased it made you giggle, it certainly made me grin. Paula, you slipped in there while I was replying, I'm glad it made you smile. You asked for a dragon love, so I found one. So tell me love, just how do you get your knights to do as they're told. I'll keep trying, but I can't see me getting very far with it. You ain't callin me a princess is ya... why ....why I'll just have to reort ya to someone fer misrepresentation...I..I I'm just appalled......I'm going to have that drink of beer and then I'm coming back to settle this why.... why I might even have to insult my lawyer....unger stand!! Ethome, well it made me grin, didn't you like it, it likes you. (I wasn't suggesting for one moment that........... but if you're after a classy dress, I've got one that might do.) It's all draped and classic black, but it is split right to the thigh, makes me look like I'm desparate for attention. (Whoops, I didn't .......... Oh I just can't help it can I?) Okay I'll make a deal with you, I'll buy you a beer the very next time I'm at the bar and you are within shouting distance. Seems fair to me, wouldn't you say. Paula, I'm sure if we bought him cocktails they would work quicker. And I'm sure you and I could persuade him to at least try it on. Actually Paula it's a nice dress it's just that split is far to high. I've heard of advertising but this shows far too much, like I've got the whole store on show. (And it's going at half price.)I said your knight was bold and gallant, it's just my knights I have trouble with.
