Oh, Gentle Breeze The breeze slowly wakes like a child from sleep Making sweet distant melodies lovingly creep Caressing and touching the field and the trees As silence is broken by rustling leaves Green pines whisper soft as they sway to and fro The willow leaves dance with the grace that they know And I in the woods am at once lured and held By the warm fragrant breeze in a mesmerized spell Contentment surrounds me with sorrow's release The deep woods enfold me with pleasure and peace And all that I hear as the evergreens sing Is the rustle of leaves and the flutter of wing Elizabeth Santos |

Very pretty, Elizabeth! I was drawn in by the title, as I, too, love a gentle breeze, and I was not disappointed. This is a lovely peaceful way to start my day. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

...the sighing of the pines... I miss that... enjoyed this... made me smile...and cast a wink {~,^} your way... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

You've painted some beautiful images for us here, Liz. The woods do offer great peace, don't they? Thank you for sharing this beautiful poetry. "Where there is great love there are always miracles" -Cather "Love heals everything, and love is all there is"- Zukav |

For sweet Liz Four Seasons Of Wind Autumn is the time of earth Quiet and friendly brown Soft somber smiled Tweedy and dead-weedy Winter is the snow sometimes Many clothes Many fires Many briskities Summer is the time of Sun High-skyed and handsome Bare-chested funny business Spring is the time of Love Old snow and new grass A time to wake up and look around A time of sudden beauty All the seasons Same winds and breezes For different reasons The senses it pleases Time goes by Like the breezes blow through, Life seems so short Like the seasons all do Life's colors like seasons, Turn shades-sometimes blue, But smiles still bring sunshine, And your poetry does too |

This is beautiful, Elizabeth! I was driving today... and just had to get out and walk in the woods... their loveliness couldn't be ignored. *S* Your poetry has so many facets... but like Toe said so eloquently... it shares sunshine. *S* |
