To The Eighteenth Power Virginia Salter When we’re eighteen, we know all there is to know we make our wise decisions ‘bout how we’re going to grow. What goes up must come down, ceiling’s higher than the ground, black and white have turned all gray, opposite of night is day. The world ahead is ours to rule, old folks around can sit and drool, for we shall conquer whatever comes as we take care of number one. Then silver strands fill locks on high, we meet the day with wanton sigh. If we could be just eighteen now, what we could do and say would “Wow!” A lion by the tale we’d swing wisdom possessed for conquering we’d turn the heads of all who’d see what we could do, yes, you and me! © November 11, 2000 |

Yes, exactly! Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Very nice wouldn't it be nice to go back and change some of our bad decisions. This is excellent! |
