It's thanksgiving and I started the day giving thanks, but when I got home, the thanks didn't last. It was my sister who started it, then my brother joined in, They got me so upset, I couldn't eat My mother said I was too thin. I left as soon as I could Feeling miserable inside Why couldn't things have gone well, Why wasn't I able to hide? |

I don't think you should ever have to hide but I know how you feel on such a day to have those kinds of results is disheartening. I'm glad you posted this here because it's in touch with reality and I hope you can touch them somehow with words and explain it to them......thanks for sharing...ethome |

I have lived through many family events as you have described. It took years to be able to say NO MORE! Now I only go to family dinners where I can stand up for myself. Let no one make you feel that you have to shrink inside yourself. Be thankful that the day is over and make plans for the Christmas holiday where you will feel at Peace. |

man i absolutely know how you feel. i am an only child so i am not used to my wife's big family getting together and the squabbles that sometimes bring forth. good job bub yuh  |

We look for so much in the tradition of a Normal Rockwell day... come away dismayed and then the thoughts will fill our head of what we should be thankful for instead... we have our health even though we have disenchanted families we have position in the hearts that look at we we have a future in our desires that be so this is what we're thankful for as behind us we close that door... < !signature--> Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?...
