Hope everyone has a peace~filled Thanksgiving.

Needful Notions

Within this sea of sheet and oak
through threshold of the night I lay
where promises and dreams he spoke
left morning's rose in disarray

With tender fingers findng there,
eclipsed, though sweetness to the tongue,
what dim of light in night's repair
in day's remake discovery's sung

And needful notions nearing doubt,
they wrap their whirl around my head
as satin streams of tears spill out
while I, alive, am waking dead

~ Claire

What a wonderful gift to see your name here tonight...
add my name to the list who has missed your graceful, beautiful, poetry.
Your cadence dances in this melancholy laced
offering...
that last line is hauntingly POE-tic
welcome home Claire...
take care

first and foremost - let me say - how wonderful to see your name again - I sincerely pray - it will not be an isolated experience.
Others above me quoted your verse I found so captivating in its poignancy but let me add:

"through threshold of the night I lay
where promises and dreams he spoke
left morning's rose in disarray"

...which reminded me you're a real queen of poetry - whom I'll always be sure to read

Dear Claire,

In this I find such a longing, an emptiness that needs to be filled.  I also find a loneliness that saddens me, my dear friend.

Poeminister, thank you. You may have read this one already, but thanks for reading (again) and for sharing your friendly thoughts and encouragement with me of late.

Sven,      I want to thank you for the lovely poem you wrote for me. What a wonderful gesture that was. I posted a reply there, but the image I inserted didn't come out. Well, it did at first, but I looked again and it's not there. So I will go back and edit to just include the poem that I mentioned. Again, thank you so much for everything. You certainly have a special way about you, my friend.   ~ Claire

Walt, you always make me smile, yuh.     Thank you!

Sharon, thank you very much. Glad to "thrill" you. It's been awhile since I've thrilled anyone!

Janet Marie, I appreciate your words. Thank you. Hope you are doing well.

Tiersdin, I don't believe we've met, nice to meet you and thank you, sincerely, for reading this piece. So good to know that you enjoyed it.

Wilfred, I am smiling. Thank you for such gracious commentary and kind greeting.

Michael, I know you understand. Thank you for everything, dear one.

James, it is wonderful to see all your little letters and numbers again, Mr. jmlee12345! Thank you so much.

Sunshine, thank you. (I did try)     SO nice to hear from you!

I am so elated to see your name here once again as you have always been one of my favorite poets.  This one is no exception to the rule.  A little darkened but so full of life and poetic perfection.  Welcome home and please please please stick around.  You have been missed.

Meadowmuse,
This is very sad, and a gem of a poem. Please write more often.

Hiya, mom! I liked your poem (as usual). It's sad though. Call me crazy, but I think everyone else liked it, too. Right guys? Anyways, I'll see you later. Love you!

Your daughter,

I'm so glad I caught this one. It has been far to long since I have been blessed with one your graceful and delicate weaves. Take care!
