Dust in the Wind If God were alive today what in the world would he have to say about all this crazy stuff that's coming down. The anger and hatred found the world round. The drug addicts and pushers all over town. The strife and wars that are always around. Abortion now referred to as a women's right. Guys like O.J. Simpson getting a kick out of killing their wives. The murderer's now demanding equal rights, they think someone other than God should have the right to end a life. Bomb's over Nagasaki and Hiroshima created a nuclear disgrace and now the world seems to be full of hazardous waste. The way things are going a man seems out of place and yet we dare call ourselves the human race. Oh yeah, you're right God is still alive and he is very aware we are going astray. He's still the one who created life and takes it away and he knows we're only a heartbeat away. Yes we are just dust in the wind and our days are all numbered and soon each one of our lives will come to an end. We all share this common thread, we will live for a season and then we will be dead. And on that day we will look God in the eye and account for our sins, he wants us to tell him who, where, why and when. For we are all sinners everyone, that is each one of us except for God's begotton son. And God knew when this great big world began that he would provide a way to save this very man. Now I must thank God that this sinner can clearly see that God's son shed his blood for you and for me. And today God is saying "Come unto me. My son Jesus died to set all of mankind free." This is meaningful and special, why don't you center it so it is displayed as it deserves to be? "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."" Laurie Lee Kathleen |

James, I understand the anger, when I live with one who lives in anger... my best for you over the holiday of Thanksgiving, so that we remember what should be... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

James, Well written. God knows already what we have done. He does not need to wait for that 'heartbeat' to expire. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

Thank you Katleen, Seymour, Sunshine, Daniel and Sven for your comments... Katleen and Seymour I'm not sure why I wrote it like this. Sunshine sorry that you are subjected to someone else's anger...hoping for better days for you...happy days...smiling days.. Daniel you are absolutely correct...God knows...I was referring to Romans 14:10-12 and 2 Corinthians 5:10. "So then each of us shall give account of himself to God." Sven I believe there was a song about that...yes...James |

James* It's quite fitting that as I get ready to sign off and make my Thanksgiving Pies that this should be the weave that called to me to click upon...you leave the etchings of wisdom with my heart today...and no matter how it's woven...the messages is loud and clear...as it should be...thank you~ You cannot dance in the sun until you have cried in the rain~ |

"We all share this common thread, we will live for a season and then we will be dead." Very powerful writing, James. I don't think you should modify it with line breaks and centering, as this piece speaks loud and in true rant form. The flowing thoughts and continuous lines carry the reader along your thought process. I love how you've written this. Hope your thanksgiving is peaceful, James. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

James, there is truth and beauty still in the world. This is an amazing read, and so full of truth. Really well done. I've no real idea what Thanksgiving is, we don't have it here. But I could make a guess that it's a sort of pre Christmas thank you. Well whatever it is Happy Thanksgiving Take care Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
