Never

Never have I allowed
for the reach of you
to enter me here,
where my heart and
entire soul
become me.

Never have I succeeded
in sending forth
the understanding, that belies
in coded speak, the words
often heard.

Never have I touched your
within, the way each look,
each half smile,
that twist of your lips
seems to pull me, into those
of your waiting thoughts.

Never shall I allow
those feelings to once again
overcome the stillness,
now caped around me,
holding in the shivers
of truth.

Never-failing "I"
whole of heart in attempts,
am faltering
at this moment,
a never-ending fear
cornering me, trapping.

Thoughts of tomorrow
disintegrating in my hold,
as I am tied and bound
to each days wondering
crouched in my world of corners
from which no hand reaches out...

I like this very much.  The person sounds free yet trapped at the same time.

Not every man truly lives."
