I would call out to you, But you don't even know I'm here, And I wouldn't want to startle you, Out of your perfect reverie. Sitting here remaining nameless, Is the best and saftest thing to do, Rather than draw your attentions, And have my hands full. I don't ask for friendship, Unless I feel I can make special time, So for now just know, That I'm watching you, Waiting you, Wanting to connect with you, On another level, And cease to be simply your observer. This isn't longing for love, But longing for friendship, For that connection, That special smile and touch of words. A collaboration of past moments, When I simply said things simply, And in all the fuss and jokes, There I blended in with a settled smile, And it hurt a little to know, That I couldn't be as lighthearted as you, Enough to draw your attentions more than briefly, But here I am dealing with it all, Your quiet friend in the corner. Remember that I may not speak much, Or fit in with all your jokes, But when all the noise is gone, I'll still be sitting there, Watching you, Waiting you, Trying to connect with you. Can I be your willful breeze, Come to touch, Your heart to ease? |
