The Memories of Tomorrow Virginia Salter The memories of tomorrow are fashioned by the choices of today we may face times of sorrow or perhaps we’ll have hours that are gay. The risk is ours to muster it’s waiting with each second of each hour as grapes in a cluster or maybe as single leaves in a bower The choice we make in a moment may be hard as anger in the throes or nigh soft as one’s lament of petals that come falling from a rose The memories ahead are ones we can’t see they develop from the things we have and haven’t done our options may bring us tears or make us sing The memories of tomorrow form by turning right or left by prayer, supplication may our choices be our best. © January 7, 2001 |

I have a problem dealing with today. Just think what I do, come what may tomorrow I'll have to pay. |

thanks, Kethry. I hope you've caught Mark's with a similar title. His was first and a totally different theme. |

Virginia, this is a wonderful piece. You didn't need my permission btw to write this or any other piece even if it comes from inspiration. I am truely honored as I said that you would find inspiration in one of mine especially when it turns out something as wonderful as this. There is much truth to what you have penned and you took it much deeper than anything that was said in mine. I applaud you and your creation here. |

Thanks, Mark. Your poem and my poem are really not to be compared. The title is their only similarity. Yours is a sensual poem of love, promises, faith in each other. Mine's a poem of universal faith in the future. A different relationship, indeed, if it is there at all. Your poem is magnificent in its intent. Depth is definitely there, but certainly in a different sense or should I say sensuousness. ;o} Love poems are not something I do readily as that particular type of love has long been spent in this house. I'm better off not rekindling those memories. ;o} Keeps my cheeks drier. |

Oh, I so enjoyed this wisdom-filled piece Virginia! Indeed, our memories of tomorrow will be shaped by decisions we make today. Beautifully written! Best wishes, /Kit |
