I read through forums here and there
and then I wondered, I fit in where?

Most of the poetry on this site
is not the sort of thing I write,

nor is this virtuality
my comfortable reality.

Should I decide to submit,
to this list, that is, you twit,

I may send along some little poem
to find a home away from home.

And I may offer comments more,
trying not to be a bore,

to some of the words that you have penned
and then have chosen here to send.

Family, you say this place to be
but still, I'll have to wait and see.

Welcome, Krawdad!!!  I'm pretty new here myself.  This is a very busy place and kind of hard to get to know very quickly.  Hope you give it a good bit of time.

I have to tell you that your user name is what drew me in to your piece.  Enjoyed how you are sticking your big toe in to test the water. ;o}

Your user name conjured up memories of the song about the 'crawdad hole,' and playing in Mill Creek shallows trying to catch crawdads before they caught my toe. Slimy rocks trying to set me down in the water. Skippers skimming the surface of the slow moving creek.  Such fun we had in third and 4th grade when we weren't nearly as afraid of what lurks in the slow moving waters.

Thanks for coming here and taking me back to a sweet time.

Welcome to Passions and I am sure you will find out just what myself and so many others have found out.  This is a wondeful place to come to no matter what the mood of your day is or the style of your poetry.  That is what makes this place so wonderful. Everyone writes the way they write and we all get to learn and enjoy from it.  I am sure that you will find out soon.  I look forward to reading more of you real SOON.

Welcome,
I can say from personal experience, that this is the finest poetry site on the web. I recently returned after a long absence.
I personally prefer pen and ink to typing but this is a good place to try out new material. And the people who you may find here are very supportive.
I look forward to reading more of your work.

Big Sigh . . .
my,my,my,
you're much too kind
(tho I don't mind)
I'll see what I can do
to respond to you.

Thanks to all for the welcome!

Kethry,
Thanks for the welcome.
Which forum?  Maybe I'll just scatter a few around the joint and see what happens.  Since I hardly know what I'm doing here, that would seem apt.  I suppose that I fit the definition of amateur rather well and I am unused to having readers.  A closet poet I am, or soon to be was I think.

well,well,well
the things somefolks won't go looking for,
in the wee hours of the morning. ;-)
You are a true archive diver!
This IS quite a place.
And family?
Better than, in some ways.
I've found more here than I expected, and more than I was looking for (and pleasantly surprised).
And you, Dixie, are a delightful member of the family.
Thank you for all your time and contributions.
Wish I could be here more often.
