The Calling

An imperceptible whisper……
dripping from
a thought so insignificant
that a memory
never forms
and is almost lost
among the torrent persistent
in its relentless flowing…
towards the waterfall
of emotions
in the heart.

Robert,
Makes me think of the muse's whisper.  Hardly even there sometimes.  I've missed enough of them to know that no one else can help you find those lost whispers.  I keep a small net with me at all times now knowing full well that if I don't capture it when it whisps by, it is gone forever.

Upon the winds of the most silent whispers rest some of the most astounding contributions to the world and life itself.  This was a wonderful poem in many ways and left me thinking.  I take it as if we ignore that whisper because we don't see it as important then we are casting ourselves into a pool of confusion down the road.........All the thoughts that enter our mind need tending to in one way or another.

Ooooo, like this one! It is so rich in poetic essence, capturing the true heart of the art of poetry.

This is metaphor in a refreshing form.  Memories in a waterfall.  Wonderful!

Krawdad!!! What a wonderful reply. I am glad you are among us.

Mark, your comments too leave me thinking. I am very glad I decided to post this poem from so many years ago.

Wynter....I think you do exist in many memories.

You are a river flowing onward.

RobertB~
Never met a whisper I didn't like.
This is just a brilliant little gem
and happens to like me very much, thank you !

Definitely one to activate gray cells, Robert. I think our lives are filled with these little thoughts not heavy enough to spring the tripswitch of memory but they add up, unnoticed, until one day a conclusion is reached or an action is initiated by the unseen force of their combining....am I making sense at all? Believe me, it's ok to say no...I may agree!

Vic...you gave me a big compliment when you said you had to read it 3 times. Thank you!!

Balladeer...I love to tickle the grey matter. I can't play the piano, so I have to tickle something ivory.
