With Abandon (repost from open 6) Have you ever known the wind to caution Have you ever heard of the tide to pause Fate tends to bring two hearts at random And love is still love with abandon I do not know the road I travel Faces fade in the blur of a dream But in the shadows is an image More vivid then I’ve ever seen I look into a future wanting I see into the soul of me You haunt my waking moments And dance in my promised dreams I protect my heart with cold decision Not from you I wouldn’t dream But still my guard and sword has risen An automatic reflex in me Up ahead I see a tunnel With neon words that riddle me Here I go into darkened chasm For the answers I can not see….. And knowledge pauses for cautioned breezes With the warning of tidal flows But, I run and chase with wild passion And love the love I give with abandon. This is excellent Parker! I do so love the way you've collected these pearls of thought together.....even with that guard up you can't help yourself....whoops there goes knowledge right past that tidal flow warning and what do you do? "But, I run and chase with wild passion And love the love I give with abandon." Makes ya so human and vulnerable that love does but oh what a GD rush.....yep you're a helpless romantic poet and a good one too! |
