Virginia Salter I live in North America but January’s hot. I know that it’s just started and I know I could get caught believin’ that winter’s mild as mild as a lamb but sweatin’ like a pig is not usually what I am. I wore a heavy sweater and thermal underwear and then the sun came out as fiercely as a bear. I shoved those gloves down in my pocket and put on my dark shades the neighbor’s singin’ “Let It Snow,” I guess she shoulda prayed. In a day or two it’s happened here before the crocus'll start to smilin’ just outside the door. The hyacinth and tulips will peek above the ground just before the snow falls to lace them with a crown. Winter seems to like to kiss its warmer neighbor, spring, and whistle all the birds in to lift their voice to sing. It seems to be a topsy-turvy world round hereabouts, I guess we’ll just have to go with the flow both ins and outs. © January 4, 2001 |

Winter seems to like to kiss its warmer neighbor, spring, and whistle all the birds in to lift their voice to sing. so true and very beautiful thoughts here...*s ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II |
