Sharp eyes, quietly alight Shifting above a lazy smile Glimmer with thoughtful rebellion And a poignant wander-lust As with pointed, intense lyrics And lilting, ghostly melodies She weaves passion into life. The music shimmies In waves of soulful abandon By the path of steel string, Connecting raw, unleashed emotion To the earthy vocals Throbbing from her throat. A powerful defiance And the embodiment of freedom Cling in a distinct mixture To her every word As shadowy hints of her dreams Casually reveal themselves. A spirit thick with airy wisdom And still possessing wild youth Lounges gently before me, Her eyes always gleaming With a thoughtful rebellion And the unmistakable urge To wander free. *Note- this is based on my guitar teacher, one of the most unique and truly genuine individuals I've ever known. *Krista Knutson* I'm a slow dying flower In a frost-killing hour The sweet turning sour and untouchable... -Natalie Merchant |

You know I think it may also take a thoughtful rebel to read another so well. And it is written so well that the accolade at the end also rings true Good job! |

I think you caught her spirit here perfectly. I liked the phrase "thoughtful rebel" and I think it describes her perfectly, and also her penchant for wanderlust. Great poem, I'm sure Lisa would beam if she saw this! Abrahm Simons "I'm not sick, but I'm not well, and I'm so hot, cause I'm in Hell." - Harvey Danger |

Guess I totally missed it in this lovely write; even with all the bookmarks I still didn't seen anything but a daughter in it until I read your note. Wow. I don't usually misread that badly. Beautifully written in any case and on reading it in the proper prospective, even more so. jwesley |
