Listening to every heart

Sweet Sweet Secret

she has a sweet sweet secret
known only to she
except for one friend
she whispers to, and they believe

she has a little secret
known since she was three…
she saw the gift of magic
when her mom kissed her dad, you see…

she has a sweet sweet secret
known between her and him
first love of her heart
and she believes the love of Jim

she has a little secret
known since she was just thirteen
she saw the gift of magic
in giving of a friendship ring

she has a sweet sweet secret
known between her and he
first real love of her heart
and the wedded bliss she'd see

she has a little secret
known as a young woman's dream
she saw the gift of magic
as the Lord blessed the holy scene

she has a sweet sweet secret
known under the heart of her
first real gift of her heart
a true love to be sure

she has a little secret
only that a woman can know
she saw the gift of magic
in the birth of a child, and lo

she learned of a sad, sad secret
and learned of unfaithfulness
she saw the gift of magic gone
and with it her marriage no less…

time and time and time again
she wanted to live a dream
to have a "for-sure" secret
a love that she could never forget

but time took life by the hand
and magic seemed far away
she trodded, plodded on demand
but still magic's song held sway

soon alone, one day she smiled
for after all, life was still worthwhile
then all at once, as if by God's hand
or by some piece of magic on command

she has a sweet sweet secret
known only to her eyes
some one wrote the words she sought
and caught her by surprise

she has a little secret
known only to a woman in love
she saw the gift of magic
in the eyes of the man she loves

she has a little secret
and she keeps it to herself
and through the gift of magic
his poetry graces her shelf

dedicated to those who find
a poet to read,
and treasures
all words therein written

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Beautifully written and I can relate to the last verse, but I will say no more as it is my little secret.

It's in your eyes a fire that's wild and glorious
Unhibited, unfinished in everything I do Let the morning rise like our hearts desire" whipping boy
