A Little Thought How many times do you simply wish that somethings' were unsaid How often have you wished that your words would drop down dead We've all done something that we really wish could be wiped away Or said something thoughtless that we wish so much we could unsay Maybe it's being only human to wish that we could rewrite the past But sometimes our foolish actions can do real harm that seems to last Why do we spend so many hours living with our deep regretful sighs When a little forethought would mean we would always be flying high Which of us hasn't thought why did I do or say that very exact thing When we heard the warning but chose to ignore its clearly loud ring We don't have to walk with our minds closed to good common sense And then we wouldn't spend so many of our hours making recompense All it would take is a few extra moments to think before we speak Or is it that we feel that consideration makes us appear a little weak But how much better would it be if we counted to ten and ten again A little time and trouble to stop the unnecessary deed that gives pain I ask that we all think for a moment of what will be the result of this And eventually with some practice we can give pain a goodbye kiss Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

Oh to just place my foot into my mouth before I speak, and stop the words that should never of been spoken. Yes, just to stop and think before I say what never needed to be said. Thank you for the reminder. |

"Now for you and me it made not be that hard to reach our dreams But that magic feeling never seems to last ***And while the future's there for anyone to change Still you know it's seems ... It would be easier sometimes to change the past*** Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight You've had to struggle, you've had to fight To keep understanding and compassion in sight You could be laughing at me, you've got the right But you go on smiling so clear and so bright" Excerpts from Jackson Browne "Fountain Of Sorrow" Am I loved by my words Will my vows weather the tide Bended knees can forsee all the rhythms of life And a heart can be held without pride ~Vante |

Oh yeah, more times than I care to count and on a daily basis. That is me alright. I am trying to learn but somehow that stupid cowboy in me is more stubborn than I thought. Excellent write my friend. Your dedication to stepping up your poetry is showwing greatly and the cadence is superb to say the least. |

Kari, Eagle One, Inot2B, Kethry, Janet Marie, Mark, Richard, and Karen I'm sorry you know that I don't do group replies very often, in fact hardly at all. Tonight is one of those very rare occassions when I simply haven't the time that I really would like to give to you all. I promise faithfully that I will get back to you all later. But I didn't want to leave you this evening without a great big thank you to you each and every one. Have a nice evening, or in Kethry's case day, and I know that I love you all. Take care Mushy and for Kari, a Majestic Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

Yeah my old Granddaddy used to say.."just listen to him, he's got his mouth in high gear and his brain in neutral." The problem with that is I think most of us are guilty some time or other....so this is good advice along with very well written questions... great style in this one Marsha...take care...ethome |

I'm not having very much luck with these replies, last night it became a madhouse and then I'm just about to hit the submit key and everything goes off. So just in case there is trouble again, I'm going to do these two at a time. Kari love, thank you so very very muchly love, and you know exactly how much I appreciate it. This is one of those resolutions I made, I've never been very good at thinking before I do anything. But I'm getting there. And I'm rising love I really am. Take care always Majestic Marsha you see even smiles Eagle one thank you very muchly, that's what I'm aiming for, to look forward and think Take care Mushy Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

Inot2B, thank you, I'm planing to try really hard to think before I act. I know it's difficult but I suppose they wouldn't be lessons if they were easy woulod they. Take care Mushy Kethry love, thank you love, well you know what I'm like how often do I behave wisely. Yes so I shall make the best attempt I can. I'm trying, (Yes you very trying! I know) Take care love Slushy Janet Marie love, thank you so very much. It is about time I found some wisdom I think. Maybe I'm like an iceberg there's a lot of me that even I don't know is there. I just wish the gathering of wisdom didn't hurt quite so much. Take care Mushy Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

I'm really sorry about doing this reply piecemeal but I didn't have any other choice today I'm afraid. Mark my friend, Don't we all suffer from too little thought, I know I do and I am trying to cure myself of it, I really am. What candence love, has it got one, and where is it. (Which just goes to show that I really do have some of my sisters genes, the blonde ones, because normally I'd say thank you and pretend I knew but I really don't) Thank you very very muchly anyway Take care Mushy Richard love, thank you truly, I will try too, these new year resolutions, I have to remember they aren't supposed to only last for the first couple of days. Take care Mushy Karen love, thank you so very much love, and much love to you too. You know I mean it don't you. Good Take care Mushy P T love, my mam used to say, 'Marsha, or normally through all the sisters before she came to me, Marsha love put your brain into gear before you put your brain in motion.' Which is more or less the same sort of thing, and I must admit, I so rarely have done so. Very much look way after I've leapt. But I'm trying love, (Yes very trying!) Thank you love you know it's really appreciated Take care Mushy I'm smiling honestly I'm smiling. SEE Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
