` A petal falls The stir of breeze and yet another petal falls, a tear of time. . . the lovely rose’s maker calls. However near to faultless God’s invent, however sweet the velvet rose’s scent divine, with passing time and just a breeze, even such perfection sees a sure decline. The seasons come to yield when spent, the oceans tug at moon’s descent, with tidal swing a thousand things suggest the notion, all the world’s in constant motion, everything. ********************** So if a breeze should bring a love to me, Oh, let me seize that opportunity, whatever cost. For when acquaintanceship shall pose the chance for fondness, . . .like a rose, it must be taken then or ever lost. And if our love , when in the early blossom‘s core of deep sensation grew to soar. . . . but now the changing seasons change us, and unforeseen events estrange us, don’t lament. For haven’t we the very golden prime beheld, taking roses when they sweetest smelled? . . .and with our free consent. Now memories, like petals folded in a cherished page of prose. . . . remind us sometimes hearts are molded not less nor more than like a rose. |

Janet Marie, Aurora Rain and Sunny Thanks for your words of encouragement. This is a poem that I wrote for a special friend who had the all too familiar pain of love slipping away. It has been a favorite of mine. Glad you like it. |
