I have a gift to give you
it's not something that I give
          to just anyone
it's been with me a long time
it won't cost you anything
and chances are,
          you've always wanted one
it's the right size
     extra large
it's the right color
     red
and it goes with everything you have

it's a little bruised and battered
but it's healed quite well
and, if you take care of it,
it will be with you for a lifetime
giving you what you give to it
          and so much more

hold it close
and it will hold you closer
love it
and it will always love you
so here it is,
        a gift freely given
        waiting to be accepted
so it can be returned to you

the gift of love
the gift of my heart. . .

I Love You. . .

Sven, this truly is a prized gift, and only you could make such a sweet offer.

Now here is the question of the year. How many did you give it to at the Party last night?

Hi Sven,

Thank you, you are so giving of your self, its so wonderful to know that you are not just a poem or story but the real thing, and you have shown us over and over again in your loving words as in this one, may you be blessed and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Love, Cerenity

the best gift one can give or receive, Sven

here's one I wrote as Moonchild...but is appropriate for a response to yours

GIFT OF HEART

Where It Will Always Remain

I reach into my pocket
every now and then
and there it remains,
always with me,
a heart of stone.
Fingering it's shape
sight unseen, every curve
smooth and cool
until warmed by my touch.

When my fingers take hold
do you feel the warmth?
You have carved meaning
into my life
and for that I will always
be grateful.
Only good memories
shall I know with each touch
of my heart.
