There is no tomorrow
   for this runaway heart
The days have become
   so desolate and dark
Theres really no reason
   to greet this New Year
No laughter no love
   just heartache and tears
Im tired of living
   a life without love
I want to hear songbirds
   not cold mourning doves
So dont speak to me
Of how a new year brings
New beginnings, new friendships
I cant seem to find any of these things
I cant find the one thing
   to make it worthwhile
A reason, a hope,
   a sweet loving smile
Its too much dont you see
   I dont care anymore
Happy New Year? I dont think so

My prayer for you is that you will find peace, hope, and love.
It can be found... in time.
Don't give up.

Paula..I too feel your sadness as I have been bitten by the same bug as you I do believe...Yet, I see the many reasons in your words with this poem..

There is tomorrow for this heart
There's reason to greet this New Year
Laughter, Love, Living
New Beginnings, New Friendships
Find the one thing to make it worthwhile
A reason, a hope, a sweet loving smile
It's there, Don't you see?

All these words I pulled from your poem.
Smile...You, yourself are worth it
I hope you see it, and I hope you find what it is and have a Most Happiest New Year, Do it just because you can.. Sorry for rambling, but I got myself on a roll...Hugs... ~LL~

There's always a reason for a happy new year. It may not happen on the first day but there's 364 days left and a world of experiences to explore...never never give up! Besides, you have too much talent for that. A part of Passions is what you are...a part of the heart and soul of the place....you have written your way into this and you deserve the comfort of these fine friends you share your heart with....happy new year! take care     ethome

No, it isn't. I spent the midnight hour crying my eyes out.  I just didn't want everyone knowing.  God Bless you

Paula love, there is always hope, honestly there is. Looking forward is the only thing any of us can do.
The sun will come out the stars will shine and you Paula love will be more than fine.

I find myself down there with these thoughts some days Paula ... it's a heavy weight that bears down once in a while. But always, some way, some how, there is a smile, a kind word, a small spark that lifts you up from the depths to renew your faith in this old world. That used to be hard to find before Passions ... now the love is everywhere each time we read a'new within these walls. Keep faith that there is a better day ahead, it is there.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Hi Paula,

I have to admit, this season has been a very hard one for me as well, I haven't even been posting or replying can't find the right words because my heart is upside down, stayed away from passions on new years because of my kids went partying made me fret alot but mostly because its so hard to pretend to be happy, I want to thank you for being so honest about how you feel, and I hope that you will soon find some peace in your life. Im going to keep this poem you put it to words so good.

Love, Cerenity

Don't know what to say, Paula, except this is strongly and succinctly well written!  Perhaps if you read the one I wrote to 'myself' this morning.  "It's Up to Me"

May the sky unfold within your heart, to a lovely glow, out of the dark.

Thought I'd give this a shot because there's people around here that want to convince this honest poet differently!

Paula lets mourn unhappy New Year together. you can be the Scrooge of New Year I'll be the Grinch, but we will need new names I know you can be the stooge I will be the flinch. Or you can be the winch I will be gromit.
