(For my friends and friendships that last forever)

By happenstance musings entwine
In juvenescent day.
A meld of minds yielding combine
Of staid and impish way.

Ensuing years directions verge,
Yet visions' focus sound.
Thence come about in tidings merge
Seas drink of life's abound.

Next generation's kin to pledge
Sodality in pact.
Parturient of others' fledge
In nonage seasons past.

From Heights whence unsung souls were bore
In friendship's staunch avow,
Like Cobblestones from paths of yore,
Enduring bonds endow.

Evening Nancy,

Exquisite Nan, simply exquisite. You are the master of the english language, especially when putting it to verse.

Friendships that last down through time from generation to generation just like those lovely cobbelstone paths.....it doesn't get any better than that!! This is one of my favorites of yours, Nan! Thanks for reposting it! This one is a real heart warmer!

The strains of Brahms went rolling through my mind - and I found myself in some sort of tavern - a youth being wise beyond years - singing "gaudeamus igitur..." so differently than I did then - maturity putting a whole different complexion on it. I loved this
