Only For The Moment In this moment, stolen and borrowed like hours made of sand... Is this my time, in my thirty-fifth summer to gracefully be your dancer. A naked ballerina in a performance that is a paradox of all I believe to be real. For I know, you are not the quintessential chevalier' that rides in and out of my fantasies, carrying my inner-most desires to horizons untouched. Love is an unspoken word (by you). Fully, and completely exempt in this sanctuary you and I journey to when reality turns to anarchy, and time will allow. But, when you touch me, you can take me to Eden and back again. You can paint my portrait, as I watch your hands make it beautiful. You're gentle and wild, and I'm a virgin angel when I'm in your arms, for no one has touched me the way you do. When you wrap your passions and strength around me, the turbulent storm that stirs in my restlessness ceases its torment, for the moment. You are a suspension in time, at a place in my life where I need to escape to that castle you build for me. A place of refuge, where the rain doesn't fall from my eyes, and sadly, your embrace hold no conditions. And so, for this moment you can captivate me and hold my private hunger in your secret desires. You can take that to bed with you in the darkness, when I am only a distant memory in your mind. Perhaps, a nuance of beauty, left etched upon your naked fire. Or you can vanquish me from all that is real to you. Sequestering any recollection of the harbor we dwelt in...for the moment All I ask of you, is when you become disenchanted in the haven we have created, and the embers no longer burn, You will remember me as a beautiful dancer that brought some of your dreams to color, and held your passion gently in my arms, for a little while ...Even if it was only for the moment. |

~You have a way with words that I truly, truly appreciate. So glad that I stopped in on this. There's a lot in here, in so many well constructed lines. I admire your work. *Peace. |

Elise~ This is lovely - 'All I ask of you, is when you become disenchanted in the haven we have created, and the embers no longer burn, You will remember me as a beautiful dancer that brought some of your dreams to color, and held your passion gently in my arms, for a little while ...Even if it was only for the moment.' And memories are made for moments like this. In soft remember ... sometime - somewhere. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Stunning portrait of an insecure but beautiful love. I love it all, but I think this is my favorite part: You can take that to bed with you in the darkness, when I am only a distant memory in your mind. Perhaps, a nuance of beauty, left etched upon your naked fire Awesome, Sandra |

You have such a wonderful way with your words...This was so very full of emotions..Emotions we all have felt at some point and will surely feel again..Made me sad to feel the impact this had , yet I loved it... Hugs and a very Happy New Year to you... ~LL~ The way to love anything is to realize it might be lost. author unknown |

============================== Absolutely wonderful poem. I loved every line in this one but the above lines for some reason really stood out for me. I applaud you on this one. |
