Spoken Words This poem I am writing deep from my heart, How cruel, unkind, our words can impart, When said to a loved one that has now depart, Rips me to pieces and tears me apart. My memories burn deep within my soul, By the words I spoke and hurt you so, On the day you died I cannot erase, The terrible hurt upon your face. I said I hated you and wished you would die, Now I live with this awful lie, Anger was in my heart that day, Now I wish I could take back the words I did say. Little did I know you would die that day, My memories haunt me, the price I pay, Now I say, forgive me Father, From someone you loved, your child, your daughter. Words said in anger hurts through and through, They cut like a knife and destroy you too, Always be careful of the words you say, God can grant your wish this very day! |
