Last night I dreamt
eyes open wide
of salty shores
and falling skies,
collecting the pieces
and placing them in my pocket
In big boats of lavender
you sail the damp streets,
calling out my name
But my tongue was traded for
another mouthful of pride
Choking on my tears
I watch you go by,
hoping that someday
I'll find my feet

Sometimes it is the hardest thing in the world to just spit out the simplest of words.  Wonderful read...I enjoyed it much.

DarkEnchantress~
This is just a hauntingly lovely piece of writing.

'In big boats of lavender
you sail the damp streets,
calling out my name
But my tongue was traded for
another mouthful of pride'

Quite creatively stated.

Beautiful, yet sad. Pride is good except when we let it run our love life.

Many excellent thoughts in this one, my favorite word is "lavender"
love that I have it in my garden and it spreads just like love (should) thank you for this one.

DE, great piece you have penned

especially loved these lines....

But my tongue was traded for
another mouthful of pride

yes sometimes it can get in the way, can't it?
