Well begun is half doneA call was rung throughout the place Contenders new were called Three warriors there to set the pace And Kethry stayed, her fists were balled First came Sven, power implied With flail of words of might Then stood Denise, whose word was tried And tested against the night The third Doreen with net of mesh Words to entrap and snare The weary man no longer fresh Walked to the ring, to battle there Doreen began with feint and thrust To catch the victim's chest He was agile and he must Avoid the feint, and beat the best Backwards, peddle backwards The victim's heart did beat If he could not win the wit of swords He soon would be dead meat The storm that broke Now had passed The sun's stroke Arrived at last The victims face was worried His skin was wet and slick One small thing could not be hurried To win this round would take a trick The victim slumped to the ground As if in despair Then slowly looking all around He grabbed onto Doreen's hair And pulled her down, her with the net He raised his eyes in plea Emperor Ron said "well met You've won this bout tis victory" To be continued... Religion is for people frightened about going to hell - Spirituality is for people who have been there. Anon. |
