Purple Dawn Remember me in purple dawn, in harbor mist that’s come and gone Remember me by silver bay, in sunset red at end of day Envision me in twilight’s calm, on whitened beach beneath the palm And walking through the sand and foam, below an opalescent dome Remember love the way it was, the pleasures of the just because The magic way that passion goes, the power of the undertows Do you recall the best of all, the splendid night of Carnival A simple glance and then we danced, and looks turned into warm romance Remember me in dress of blue, the Mira-Mar, the rendez-vous Can you still see the diamond lights in Ipanema’s heated nights The rhythms played a samba beat, and revelry was in the street We disappeared without a trace into the realm of love’s embrace Whenever there’s a starlit sky, I wonder if you wonder why We parted ways, it had to be, do you still ever think of me In misty dawns of purple hue I always will remember you In harbor mist beside the sea, I hope that you remember me Elizabeth Santos |

I have never even met you but will I know for fact that I will not ever forget you. Your poetry has brought too much happiness into my life. This one most definitely falls in that category. A beautiful read from beginning to end. A life with love will have some thorns, but a life without love will have no roses. author unknown |

Exquisitely beautiful! Oh, it is so easy to remember another should they be a part of all this tender, vibrant beauty you portray. To be remembered by another in the same way, surely that is a desire of us all, to some extent, at least. Oh, to be a person that conjures up such lovely images, what a grand wish. Your flow and rhyme are magnificent and your subject conveyed very well! |

Balladeer is absolutely right, this is perfection, every word crafted and followed through, it is a pleasure reading this, Elizabeth. A fine poem, one to be proud of. "Every man dies. Not every man truly lives." Braveheart Kathleen |

I believe - there is no time of day - from Dawn round the clock to dawn again when you will not be remembered - just as you've described - Certainly from my POV |

Melton, Thank you for the kind comment Mark, We probably know each other through our poetry better than those we've known personally for years. We don't really need to meet. You have inspired and touched so many with your words. Thank you, dear poet Vas. Thanks for your remarks. These images weren't conjured up , but merely remembered Lady lightening, I really appreciate your comment JM, You are so sweet with all your comments. I'm so glad you liked this one. Thank you Kathleen, You words warm my heart. Thank you for such dear remarks Bill, It's so nice to be remembered , but the reality might be that others remember us in a different way than we remember them. How much time I've wasted thinking of those things. But if you remember this poem, I'll be happy. Thank you, dear friend Liz |
